The Cisco 7301 – Economical Gigabit Functionality In A Modular 1U Router
The
Cisco 7301 is an integrated, modular router using the same technology as
the 7206VXR –including its most sophisticated and advanced
hardware, in a small, powerful router. In short, the 7301 has a built in
NPE that combines features of the NPE-G2 and NPE-G1 (1
million-packets-per-second (Mpps) processing performance and three RJ45
copper/SFP GBIC gigabit interface ports, and integrated IO functions),
plus a port adaptor (PA) expansion slot supporting most PA cards used in
the 7206VXR, so the 7301 can be adapted to virtually any use. In addition,
its integrated design makes it much smaller (1U), lighter (only about 15
lbs) and less expensive than an equivalently provisioned 7206VXR. The
7301, pictured below with AC power, comes with either AC or DC power
supply.
